The streets and skies around the station, where many of Ichigo's Substitute Soul Reaper fights take place: from Uryū's Hollow challenge to Rukia's arrest, up to Grimmjow's raids.

The town centre is the everyday battlefield. Uryū's bait challenge draws dozens of Hollows and a Menos Grande here; on a rainy night Renji and Byakuya arrest Rukia here and leave Ichigo on the ground, powerless; and twice Grimmjow brings the Arrancar war here. The individual fights have no precise street in the series: this pin gathers the events set generically 'in town'.

  1. Isshin, Masaki and the Hollow WhiteAbout twenty years earlierTwenty years before the story, captain Isshin Shiba faces White in Karakura, an experimental Hollow created by Aizen. The young Quincy Masaki saves him, but the Hollow merges with her soul.
  2. Sōken Ishida's deathIchigo's childhoodUryū's grandfather is killed by Hollows while the Soul Reapers arrive too late; his body ends up in Mayuri's laboratory. Uryū swears hatred against Soul Reapers.
  3. Uryū's challenge and the Menos GrandeSubstitute Soul ReaperUryū challenges Ichigo to a Hollow-hunting contest by scattering bait all over Karakura. Dozens of Hollows and a Menos Grande show up; Ichigo and Uryū drive it back together, while Chad and Orihime awaken their powers.
  4. Rukia's arrestSubstitute Soul ReaperOn a rainy night Renji and Byakuya come to Karakura to take Rukia back to the Soul Society. Uryū is knocked out; Ichigo takes on Renji, but Byakuya cuts him down in an instant and strips him of his powers.
  5. Grimmjow's first raidArrancarGrimmjow attacks Karakura with his Fracción without Aizen's permission. The Gotei's advance team takes them on: Rukia beats Di Roy, Ikkaku secretly uses his Bankai against Edrad, Renji defeats Yylfordt, Hitsugaya and Rangiku bring down Shawlong and Nakeem. Ichigo faces Grimmjow; Tōsen comes to fetch him.
  6. The second Arrancar raidArrancarAs Ulquiorra moves for Orihime, Aizen sends a diversion: Grimmjow, Yammy, Wonderweiss and other Arrancar attack Karakura. Ichigo fights Grimmjow with his mask.
  7. Isshin cuts down Grand FisherArrancarWhile Ichigo is in Hueco Mundo, Grand Fisher, now an Arrancar, returns to Karakura to take revenge on Karin. Isshin appears for the first time in a captain's attire and cuts him in two with a single strike.
