Sōkyoku Hill

双殛の丘

The hill of capital executions, with the Sōkyoku halberd that turns into a phoenix of fire. Here Rukia is about to be executed, here Ichigo saves her and here Aizen drops his mask.

The Sōkyoku is meant to annihilate Rukia's soul; Ichigo stops it bare-handed, Kyōraku and Ukitake destroy it with the Shiba house's shield. The arc's decisive fights flare up around the hill: Ichigo against Byakuya, Soi Fon against Yoruichi, Yamamoto against his two students. Then Aizen reveals he orchestrated everything for the Hōgyoku hidden in Rukia's soul, and flees to Hueco Mundo in the light of the Negación.
