12th Division barracks

The science Division, home of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute founded by Kisuke Urahara. Today it is the domain of Mayuri Kurotsuchi and of his creation and lieutenant Nemu.

Urahara, made captain a hundred and ten years ago, freed Mayuri from the Maggot's Nest prison to make him his deputy at the Institute. The devices the Soul Society uses against Aizen and the Wandenreich are born here — and here Urahara tried, in vain, to reverse the Hollowfication of the friends betrayed by Aizen.
