- Arrancar landing fieldBattlefieldThe open ground where Ulquiorra and Yammy land on their first scouting trip to Karakura: Yammy sucks out the souls of passers-by, breaks Chad's arm and injures Orihime before Ichigo arrives.

- Karakura General HospitalLandmarkThe large hospital run by Ryūken Ishida, Uryū's father: a Quincy who turned his back on the Quincy and chose medicine. Ten years after the war, Uryū works there as a doctor too.
- Karakura High SchoolLandmarkThe high school of Ichigo, Orihime, Uryū, Chad, Tatsuki, Keigo and Mizuiro. Rukia enrols here too, and later Shinji Hirako and the members of Hitsugaya's advance team.

- Kira's pillarBattlefieldThe pillar guarded by Izuru Kira: against Abirama Redder his Wabisuke, which doubles the weight of whatever it strikes, proves deadlier than his gloomy air would suggest.

- Urahara ShopHideoutA little candy shop run by a man in a hat and clogs: in reality the base of Kisuke Urahara, an exiled former captain, who secretly sells Soul Society goods to Soul Reapers stationed in the World of the Living.
- Urahara's training roomTraining areaA huge artificial cavern hidden beneath the shop, with a fake sky and rocks as far as the eye can see: the 'study room' where Urahara trains anyone who needs to get stronger, fast.
- Visored warehouseHideoutThe abandoned warehouse where the eight Visored hide, shielded by one of Hachigen's barriers. This is where Ichigo learns to master the Hollow inside him.
- Yumichika's pillarBattlefieldThe pillar guarded by Yumichika Ayasegawa: against the flamboyant Charlotte Chuhlhourne he secretly reveals, inside a barrier, the true name of his Zanpakutō, Ruri'iro Kujaku.
Soul Society(29)
- 10th Division barracksLandmarkThe Division of Tōshirō Hitsugaya, the prodigy captain with the ice Zanpakutō, and of his lieutenant Rangiku Matsumoto. Twenty years earlier the captain was a certain Isshin Shiba.
- 11th Division barracksLandmarkThe fighting Division par excellence, which despises Kidō and lives for battle. Its captain always bears the title 'Kenpachi', the strongest: today Kenpachi Zaraki, with Yachiru, Ikkaku and Yumichika.
- 12th Division barracksLandmarkThe science Division, home of the Shinigami Research and Development Institute founded by Kisuke Urahara. Today it is the domain of Mayuri Kurotsuchi and of his creation and lieutenant Nemu.
- 13th Division barracksLandmarkThe Division of Jūshirō Ukitake, the sickly, kind captain, and of Rukia Kuchiki. Its long-time lieutenant was Kaien Shiba; after the war the command passes to Rukia.
- 1st Division barracksLandmarkThe heart of the Gotei 13, with the great tower at the centre of the Seireitei: here the Captain-Commander summons the captains' meetings, and here the Wandenreich strikes first.
- 2nd Division barracksLandmarkThe special operations Division, merged with the Onmitsukidō, the Stealth Force: assassins, guards of the Maggot's Nest prison and spies. Captain: Soi Fon, successor to Yoruichi Shihōin.
- 3rd Division barracksLandmarkThe Division of Gin Ichimaru, the captain with the fixed smile who defects with Aizen; after him the command passes to Rōjūrō 'Rose' Ōtoribashi, back from the Visored's exile. Lieutenant: Izuru Kira.
- 4th Division barracksLandmarkThe medical and relief Division, mocked as the weakest — and led by the most fearsome of captains: Retsu Unohana, in truth Yachiru Unohana, the first Kenpachi.
- 5th Division barracksLandmarkThe Division of Sōsuke Aizen, the kind captain respected by everyone — and the mastermind behind every crisis in the first half of the series. Lieutenant: Momo Hinamori, who worships him.
- 6th Division barracksLandmarkThe Division of House Kuchiki, led by Byakuya, the captain who, out of respect for the law, accepts the execution of his own adoptive sister. Lieutenant: Renji Abarai.
- 7th Division barracksLandmarkThe Division of Sajin Komamura, the wolf-headed captain who hides his face under a helmet until he takes it off to fight Kenpachi. Lieutenant: Tetsuzaemon Iba.
- 8th Division barracksLandmarkThe Division of Shunsui Kyōraku, the captain in the floral kimono who never seems to take anything seriously; lieutenant Nanao Ise. After Kyōraku's promotion the command passes to Lisa Yadōmaru.
- 9th Division barracksLandmarkThe Division of Kaname Tōsen, the blind captain who preaches justice and defects with Aizen; after him Kensei Muguruma returns. Lieutenant: Shūhei Hisagi, who also edits the Seireitei's newspaper.
- Central 46 ChambersLandmarkThe sealed Seijōtōkyorin compound where the forty sages and six judges who rule the Soul Society sit. Their verdicts are beyond appeal — even when, as Hitsugaya finds out, they are written by a dead man.
- Hakutōmon (West Gate)LandmarkThe western gate of the Seireitei, watched over by the giant Jidanbō, who in three hundred years has never let anyone through. Ichigo beats him and Jidanbō lifts the gate — but on the other side stands Gin Ichimaru.
- Hokutan (Mount Koifushi)Training areaThe third district of West Rukongai, at the foot of Mount Koifushi: this is where Kaien Shiba trains Rukia in swordsmanship, decades before the story begins.
- Inuzuri (South Rukongai 78)VillageOne of the poorest districts of South Rukongai. Here Hisana abandons her baby sister Rukia, and here Rukia grows up with Renji and a band of orphans before entering the Academy.
- Junrinan (West Rukongai 1)VillageThe first district of West Rukongai, orderly and quiet, just outside the walls. Tōshirō Hitsugaya and Momo Hinamori grew up here with their adoptive grandmother.
- Kuchiki manorLandmarkThe residence of the noblest of the four great houses, with its garden and Hisana's portrait. Here Byakuya takes Rukia in as his adoptive sister to keep the promise he made to his dying wife.
- Kūkaku Shiba's houseLandmarkThe isolated house in West Rukongai where Kūkaku, the last heir of the disgraced Shiba house, lives: recognisable from afar by the huge stone arms holding up its banner and by the cannon she fires fireworks from.
- MukenCaveThe deepest level of the Seireitei's underground prisons: a dark, boundless space. Here Aizen is chained for a twenty-thousand-year sentence, and here Unohana and Kenpachi fight their last duel.
- Real Karakura (moved to the Rukongai)BattlefieldDuring the battle against Aizen the real Karakura, put to sleep, is moved to the edge of the Rukongai and replaced by a replica. This is where Aizen comes to forge the Ōken, and where his fight with Ichigo ends.
- Secret training ground (Sōkyoku)Training areaThe cavern hidden beneath Sōkyoku Hill where Urahara and Yoruichi played and trained as children. Here Yoruichi brings Ichigo to achieve Bankai in three days with the Tenshintai.
- SeireiteiCityThe Soul Reapers' city at the heart of the Soul Society, enclosed by sekkiseki walls that repel spiritual energy: home of the Gotei 13, Central 46 and the great noble houses. Double-click to enter.
- SenkaimonDimensionThe official gateway between the Soul Society and the World of the Living, through the Dangai. Ichigo heads home from here with his Substitute Soul Reaper badge, and the Gotei 13's expeditions leave from here.
- Senzaikyū (Shrine of Penitence)LandmarkThe white tower where those sentenced to death await execution, connected to Sōkyoku Hill by a long suspended bridge. Rukia is locked there in a cell that drains her spiritual energy.
- Shin'ō AcademyTraining areaThe school of spiritual arts, founded by Yamamoto two thousand years ago, from which almost every Soul Reaper graduates. Here Rukia, Renji, Kira, Hinamori and Hisagi meet as students.
- Sōkyoku HillBattlefieldThe hill of capital executions, with the Sōkyoku halberd that turns into a phoenix of fire. Here Rukia is about to be executed, here Ichigo saves her and here Aizen drops his mask.
- Zaraki (North Rukongai 80)VillageThe eightieth district of North Rukongai, the most remote and lawless: this is where the nameless boy who would become Kenpachi Zaraki grew up, taking the district's name as his own.
Hueco Mundo(14)
- Aaroniero's palace (Novena)HideoutThe dark tower of the Noveno Espada, the only one who cannot bear the artificial sky's light. Here Rukia faces him, and Aaroniero shows himself to her wearing Kaien Shiba's face.
- GargantaDimensionThe black rift through which Hollows and Arrancar pass from Hueco Mundo to the other worlds: inside there is no path, you have to build one with your own spiritual energy.
- Hueco Mundo desertRegionThe white dunes under the eternal moon that Ichigo, Uryū and Chad cross as soon as they leave the Garganta. Here they meet Nel, Pesche and Dondochakka, busy with their 'eternal game of tag'.
- Inner desert of Las NochesBattlefieldThe stretch of sand under the dome where the mission's last fights are fought: Nnoitra against Nel and Ichigo, then against Kenpachi; Byakuya against Zommari.
- Las NochesCityThe immense white fortress at the centre of Hueco Mundo's desert: once King Barragan's palace, then the headquarters of Aizen and his Espada. Double-click to enter.
- Las Noches corridors (the five paths)BattlefieldThe five-way fork where Ichigo, Uryū, Chad, Rukia and Renji split up, promising to meet again. At the end of the corridors the Privaron Espada, the demoted former Espada, wait for them.
- Las Noches outer wallLandmarkThe dome's white wall, so vast it looks like a mountain. Ichigo and Chad smash through it with Getsuga Tenshō and Brazo, entering the fortress's dark corridors.
- Las Noches throne roomLandmarkThe hall where Aizen sits on the throne that once belonged to Barragan and gathers the ten Espada around a long table for tea. It is also where the trap that strands the captains in Hueco Mundo is sprung.
- Menos ForestForestThe forest of quartz trees beneath Hueco Mundo's sands, where the Gillian, the most common Menos Grande, live, and where Adjuchas devour one another to evolve.
- Orihime's room in Las NochesLandmarkThe white room, with a single crescent window, where Orihime is held prisoner in Ulquiorra's custody. This is where Ichigo and Ulquiorra clash for the first time in Las Noches.
- Pillar plateau (Grimmjow's arena)BattlefieldThe ground beneath the artificial sky where Ichigo and Grimmjow fight their rematch: Grimmjow has Orihime heal his opponent just to beat him at full strength, and unleashes Pantera.
- Summit of the Las Noches domeBattlefieldThe roof of the dome, under Hueco Mundo's real night sky: here Ulquiorra unleashes his Segunda Etapa and kills Ichigo — who rises again transformed into a full Hollow.
- Szayelaporro's palace (Octava)HideoutThe laboratory-palace of the Octava Espada, Szayelaporro Granz: traps, clones and voodoo puppets. Renji and Uryū are nearly killed there, until a worse scientist than him shows up: Mayuri.
- Wandenreich camp in Hueco MundoBattlefieldAfter Aizen's fall the Wandenreich invades Hueco Mundo, captures Queen Harribel and forcibly recruits the Arrancar. Ichigo arrives to free them and faces Quilge Opie, 'the Jailer'.

- GatondenSacred placeThe 'palace of food' of Kirio Hikifune, 'the Ruler of Grain': colonnaded rotundas where Ichigo and Renji are stuffed with dishes that replenish spiritual energy.
- HōōdenSacred placeThe palace of Ōetsu Nimaiya, creator of the Zanpakutō: a humble house on the edge of a cliff. Here Zangetsu is reforged, and Ichigo learns the truth about his own sword and his mother.
- Ichibē Hyōsube's palaceTraining areaThe dojo at the top of a stairway cut into the hillside, home of the Royal Guard's leader, 'the Monk Who Calls True Names'. Here Renji learns Zabimaru's true name.
- KirindenSacred placeThe palace of Tenjirō Kirinji, the Royal Guard's keeper of hot springs: his springs heal mortal wounds in a few hours. It is the first stop for Ichigo, Renji, Byakuya and Rukia at the Reiōkyū.
- ReiōkyūSacred placeThe palace floating above the Soul Society where the Soul King rests, protected by the Royal Guard. Double-click to enter.
- Senjumaru Shutara's palaceSacred placeThe palace of the 'Great Weaver', who created the Soul Reapers' uniforms. Its name is not revealed in the series. When the Wandenreich invades the Reiōkyū, Senjumaru unleashes her Bankai against the Schutzstaffel here.
- Soul King's PalaceSacred placeThe cocoon floating at the centre of the Reiōkyū where the Soul King has lived for a million years, without arms, legs or heart, sealed in a crystal as the linchpin that keeps the three worlds apart.
Wandenreich(2)
- SilbernCityThe Wandenreich's capital, hidden for a thousand years in the shadows of the Seireitei. In the second invasion the Quincy make it rise in place of the Soul Reapers' city, turning the Seireitei into their battlefield.
- WahrweltCityThe 'City of the True World': the Reiōkyū refounded by Yhwach after absorbing the Soul King, with a castle-tower at its centre. The series' final battle is fought here.
