Sōken Ishida
石田宗弦
Uryū's grandfather and teacher, who dreamed of Quincy and Soul Reapers as allies. He dies attacked by Hollows while the Soul Reapers arrive too late, and his body ends up in Mayuri's laboratory.
His death is the root of Uryū's hatred of Soul Reapers and the reason his fight with Mayuri in the Soul Society is personal. The Ginrei Kojaku bow Uryū uses against him was his.
