The riverbank where, six years before the story, Masaki Kurosaki dies shielding her nine-year-old son from the Hollow Grand Fisher, disguised as a little girl about to drown.

For years Ichigo believes it was his fault. The truth comes much later: Masaki was a pure-blooded Quincy, and that day her powers had been torn from her by Yhwach's Auswählen, leaving her helpless before a Hollow she could easily have beaten.
