Isshin Kurosaki

Ichigo's rowdy father, a neighbourhood doctor who greets him every morning with a flying kick. In truth he is Isshin Shiba, former captain of the Tenth Division, who gave up everything to save Masaki.

Twenty years earlier, on a mission in Karakura, Isshin faced White, the experimental Hollow created by Aizen; Masaki, a Quincy, intervened and was contaminated by it. To save her, Isshin agreed to bind his own soul to hers through one of Urahara's gigai, losing his Soul Reaper powers. He regains them during the Arrancar arc, kills Grand Fisher, by then an Arrancar, and takes Ichigo into the Dangai to teach him the Final Getsuga Tenshō.
