Real Karakura (moved to the Rukongai)

During the battle against Aizen the real Karakura, put to sleep, is moved to the edge of the Rukongai and replaced by a replica. This is where Aizen comes to forge the Ōken, and where his fight with Ichigo ends.

The transfer is the work of the Kidō Corps. When Aizen crosses the Senkaimon towards the town, the only people awake are the humans with spiritual power: Tatsuki, Keigo, Mizuiro, Karin and Don Kanonji. Here Gin Ichimaru makes his one true strike against Aizen, and here Ichigo, out of the Dangai, uses the Final Getsuga Tenshō. Its position within the Rukongai is indicative: the series only says the town was brought into the Soul Society.

  1. Gin's betrayalArrancarIn the real Karakura Gin strikes Aizen with the poison of Kamishini no Yari and tears the Hōgyoku from him. Aizen evolves again, survives and kills him. Gin dies before Rangiku.
  2. Ichigo vs Aizen: the Final Getsuga TenshōArrancarIchigo emerges from the Dangai and draws Aizen away from the town. With the Final Getsuga Tenshō, Mugetsu, he surpasses him; the Hōgyoku rejects Aizen and the Kidō Urahara planted in him seals him. Ichigo loses his powers.
