Gin Ichimaru
市丸ギン
The Third Division captain with ever-squinting eyes and a fox-like grin, who betrays the Soul Society alongside Aizen. His true goal, revealed only at the end, is to kill Aizen.
As a child in the Rukongai he saw Aizen tear a fragment out of Rangiku's soul: from that day on he got close to Aizen to take it back. For decades he plays the snake, until in Karakura he strikes Aizen with the poison of Kamishini no Yari and tears the Hōgyoku from him. Aizen, by now beyond all limits, survives and kills him; Gin dies in Rangiku's arms.
