Bleach · Character
Izuru Kira
吉良イヅル
The melancholy lieutenant of the Third Division, Renji and Hinamori's Academy classmate. Loyal to Gin to the very end, he fights with Wabisuke, the sword that doubles the weight of whatever it strikes.
When Hinamori attacks Gin, believing him to be Aizen's murderer, Kira steps in and has to fight a friend: it is the first sign of how deep the crack opened by Aizen runs. At the replica Karakura he guards a pillar against Abirama Redder; in the Quincy war he is gravely wounded in the first invasion.
