Reiss chapel

The chapel near the Reiss estate, east of Orvud, hiding a crystal cavern: here Grisha steals the Founder in 845 and here, in 850, Historia refuses to devour Eren.

The underground cavern was made with the power of hardening. In 845 Grisha slaughters the Reiss family there and devours Frieda, the Founder's holder; Rod survives. Five years later Rod brings Historia and a chained Eren there: Historia refuses, Rod drinks the serum and becomes a gigantic Titan, and Eren — swallowing a hardening serum — holds up the ceiling and saves everyone. Kenny, mortally wounded, hands Levi the box with the serum.

  1. Grisha steals the FounderYear 845That same day Grisha reaches the Reiss family's underground chapel and asks Frieda to use the Founder. When she refuses he transforms, devours her and kills the family. Only Rod survives.
  2. In the Reiss chapelYear 850Rod Reiss shows Historia Frieda's memories and asks her to devour the chained Eren to take back the Founder. Historia refuses and hurls the syringe away. Eren drinks the "Armor" serum, transforms and holds up the collapsing cavern with hardening.
  3. Kenny's deathYear 850Mortally burned by Rod's Titan, Kenny tells Levi about Uri and his dream, says everyone is "a slave to something" and leaves him the serum that could have saved him.
