The Walls bear the names of Ymir Fritz's three daughters and are made of hardened Colossal Titans standing side by side: it is the secret the Church of the Walls keeps and Pastor Nick takes to his grave. King Karl Fritz raised them as a shield and as a threat — had Paradis been attacked, the Founder could have awakened them and unleashed the Rumbling.
