Survey Corps

The military branch that ventures beyond the Walls to explore and reclaim the outside world: its emblem is the Wings of Freedom. For decades it is seen as a waste of lives and taxes; it becomes the heart of humanity's fight.

Led in turn by Keith Shadis (12th commander), Erwin Smith (13th), Hange Zoë (14th) and Armin Arlert (15th). Erwin transforms the corps with the Long-Distance Scouting Formation, reduces losses and leads it to retake Wall Maria at the cost of his own life. Four years later the few survivors reach the sea, land in Marley and end up fighting Eren himself to save the world.
