No Breaths From Hell
Tite Kubo's one-shot for the series' twentieth anniversary (2021): during the Konsō Reisai for Ukitake the gates of Hell open, and a damned soul named Kokutō drags Ichigo towards Hell.
It reveals that dead captains, whose spiritual pressure is too great to return to the cycle of souls, end up in Hell. It is the prologue to a possible 'Hell arc' the author has yet to develop.
