Ymir Fritz

The slave who two thousand years ago came into contact with the 'source of all organic matter' and became the first Titan: mother of the Eldians, she spent two millennia in the Paths shaping Titans for her king's bloodline.

Accused of freeing the village pigs, she is hunted like an animal and falls into the hollow of a tree, where a spine-like creature fuses with her. King Fritz uses her power to build an empire and gives her three daughters. She dies after thirteen years shielding him with her own body; the king has her daughters devour her corpse so the power stays in the family. In the Paths she keeps obeying, until Eren tells her she is free — but what she was really waiting for was to see someone, Mikasa, choose to let go of the one she loves.
