Zangetsu

Ichigo's sword, always released: a black guardless cleaver (Shikai). Bankai: Tensa Zangetsu, a black katana that compresses all its power into speed. After the war it is reborn as two blades, one Shinigami-Hollow and one Quincy.

For most of the series Ichigo believes his sword's spirit is the 'old man' in black; only at the Hōōden does he learn that this man is his Quincy power and that the true Zangetsu is his inner Hollow. Its signature technique is the Getsuga Tenshō; its ultimate form, the Mugetsu.
