Black Clover · Story arc

Magic Knights Entrance Exam

In the Royal Capital the nine captains pick their new recruits. Everyone wants Yuno; for Asta a single hand goes up — Yami Sukehiro's.

The arc introduces the nine squads, the merit-star ranking and the class wall that separates nobles from commoners. The Black Bulls, bottom of the table and full of hard cases, take Asta in without asking questions; the first mission, at Saussy, teaches him what being a Magic Knight means before he even knows how to win a fight.
