Squads

The squad of the kingdom's youngest captain, Rill Boismortier: creative, chaotic and surprisingly effective.

The bottom-ranked squad: criminals, misfits and a boy with no magic, held together by captain Yami Sukehiro.

The all-women squad led by Charlotte Roselei: rigorously disciplined, and famous for its terrible relationship with male colleagues.

Captain Dorothy Unsworth's squad — she spends less time awake than anyone else in the kingdom.

The fire squad, led by Fuegoleon Vermillion and, when needed, by his sister Mereoleona: discipline, courage and zero tolerance for cowardice.

The Dark Triad's soldiers, enhanced with grafts of devil power by the researcher Moris Libardirt.

The three Zogratis siblings who overthrew the Spade Kingdom, each bound by pact to one of the highest-ranking devils.

The group of Clover Kingdom commoners who, after the Spade war, hunt anyone suspected of dealing with devils — Asta included.

The inhabitants of the Underworld, ordered into seven levels of power: they make pacts with humans in exchange for part of their body or their life.

The Diamond Kingdom's eight elite mages: living weapons, produced by an unscrupulous training and enhancement programme.

A rare people almost never seen in the Black Clover world: Charmy Pappitson is half-dwarf, and that is where her off-the-scale magic comes from.

The people of immense mana wiped out five hundred years ago and brought back by the Reincarnation: today they live in Elysia.

The terrorist organisation hunting the magic stones to bring the elf people back to life, led by Patry under the name of Licht.

The kingdom's elite squad, top of the rankings for years: only the best, almost all nobles — and Yuno.

Jack the Ripper's squad: as aggressive as its captain, and more interested in results than in manners.

The orphanage of the village of Hage: Father Orsi, Sister Lily and the six children raised there — Asta and Yuno among them.

Gordon's noble house: a family of poison mages, as isolated as its most famous member.

The noble house of Rill Boismortier, the kingdom's youngest captain: a family that let an artist grow up instead of a soldier.

The royal house of five hundred years ago, that of Lumiere Silvamillion Clover and his sister Tetia: the kingdom takes its name from it.

The royal house of the Spade Kingdom, wiped out in the Zogratis coup: only Yuno survives, carried across the border as a newborn.

The family of the Clover Kingdom's king: formal power, no real power — and a chief justice, Damnatio, who counts for more than the monarch.

Charlotte Roselei's noble house: its women carried a curse that kept them from loving, broken unknowingly by Yami Sukehiro.

One of the Clover Kingdom's royal houses: water and mercury magic, boundless pride and one secret — the curse that killed Acier.

The noble house of Spatial Magic: it disinherited Finral in favour of Langris because his magic 'could not kill'.

The royal house of fire: Fuegoleon, Mereoleona, Leopold, Mimosa and Kirsch — five opposite temperaments around the same attribute.

The four siblings who overthrew the Spade Kingdom: Lucius, Dante, Vanica and Zenon, each with their own devil.

The inhabitants of the four kingdoms: they are born with a magic attribute and receive a grimoire at fifteen — almost all of them.

The Clover Kingdom's army: nine squads, one Wizard King and a merit-star ranking that decides reputations and careers.

The kingdom's judicial body, made up almost entirely of nobles and led by chief justice Damnatio Kira.

The human beings rewritten by Lucius Zogratis with Soul Magic: enormous power, erased will. Sister Lily is the first.

The squad the corrupt captain Gueldre Poizot had turned into a private business, and that Kaiser Granvorka puts back on its feet.

The special unit Julius forms to strike the Eye of the Midnight Sun: picked through a tournament open to every squad, with no regard for rank or surname.

The seven strongest warriors of the Land of the Sun, serving Shogun Ryuya Ryudo: no grimoires, only ki and the sword.

The squad of the haughtiest nobility, led by the head of House Silva: almost all royals or high-ranking nobles.

The northern kingdom's forces under the Dark Triad: an army that treats its own population as material for the ritual.

The Heart Kingdom's defenders, each bound to an elemental spirit and to Princess Lolopechka.

Sylph, Salamander, Undine and Gnome: the spirits of wind, fire, water and earth, who form pacts with individual mages.

The book that chooses the mage, not the other way around: every fifteen-year-old receives one at the Grimoire Tower, and the number of leaves on the cover clover has become a scale of worth.

The stones scattered across the world that hold the elves' souls: the stake of the entire first half of the series, and the key to the Reincarnation ritual.

The line of the Clover Kingdom's twenty-eight Wizard Kings: the strongest mage in the kingdom, and the title Asta and Yuno swore to fight each other for.

The three strongest elves of the Eye of the Midnight Sun: Rhya the Disloyal, Vetto the Despair and Fana the Loveless.

The isolated community at the bottom of the sea, led by High Priest Gifso: it has guarded one of the magic stones for centuries.

The witches' forest-state, closed to men and ruled absolutely by the Witch Queen.
