Grimoire Acceptance Ceremony
Asta and Yuno, raised in the same orphanage, attend the Grimoire Tower: Yuno receives a four-leaf clover, Asta nothing. Then, at Hage, a dust-covered five-leaf grimoire comes to him on its own.
The opening arc sets the pact the whole series runs on: two orphans from the kingdom's poorest village swear that one of them will become Wizard King. When the thief Revchi Salik attacks Yuno to steal his grimoire, it is Asta — no magic, no book, no chance at all — who steps in. And that is when the five-leaf grimoire chooses him.

- The Grimoire Acceptance CeremonyClover Kingdom SagaAt the Grimoire Tower Yuno receives an extremely rare four-leaf clover. Nothing comes to Asta, in front of the whole village.
- The five-leaf grimoireClover Kingdom SagaThe thief Revchi Salik attacks Yuno to steal his four-leaf grimoire. Asta steps in with nothing to defend himself with, and a dust-covered black grimoire comes to him on its own: five leaves, and a sword inside.
