Black Clover · Story arc

Spade Kingdom invasion

The Dark Triad strikes first, on three fronts at once: Zenon wipes out the Golden Dawn, Dante levels the Black Bulls' hideout, Vanica assaults the Heart Kingdom.

This is the protagonists' flattest defeat. Asta is beaten by Dante without ever coming close; Yami and William are abducted to fuel the Tree of Qliphoth; Lolopechka becomes Vanica's prisoner. By the arc's end the Clover Kingdom is ahead on nothing — and Nacht Faust steps out of the shadows.
