The destruction of Flevance, the 'White City' wiped out over Amber Lead poisoning, and young Law's escape. Taken in by the Donquixote family, he is saved by Corazon, who gives him the Ope Ope Fruit at the cost of his own life.
The Dressrosa flashback reveals Trafalgar Law's childhood in Flevance, the 'White City' that thrived on Amber Lead without knowing the ore was poisoning its own people. When the neighbouring nations exterminate Flevance for fear of contagion, Law loses family and friends and flees, sick and full of hate. Taken in by the Donquixote, he finds a father figure in Corazon — Doflamingo's brother and a secret Marine agent: on Minion Island Corazon gives him the Ope Ope Fruit and dies protecting him, leaving him a new reason to live.
