Hidden Sound Village
音隠れの里 · Otogakure no Sato
Village founded by Orochimaru as an experimental base and laboratory for his research into bodies and forbidden techniques. Not officially recognised as a Great Hidden Village.
Otogakure has no fixed territory: it is more a network of underground bases and hidden castles than a traditional village. Its military force is composed of shinobi experimented on by Orochimaru, bearers of cursed seals. The village participated in the attack on Konoha during the final phase of the Chūnin Exam.
