Iceburst stone

The mineral mined underground on Paradis that powers the omni-directional mobility gear's gas; together with the island's fossil fuel deposits, it is one of the resources the world covets.

The gear's gas comes from burning the stone: without iceburst there would be no omni-directional mobility, and so no defence against the Titans. Hange and her technicians are among the few who understand how it works; with the Volunteers, Paradis discovers how much it is worth to the outside world.
